Beth Hart is a Los Angeles native and blues-singing, rock vocalist. She performed on the streets and began her career with Immortal in 1995. Her frank, open persona, musicianship, and emotional live performances attracted the attention of many. Chuck Taylor wrote that Hart was "the the epitome of natural women" in the October 2 issue of Billboard magazine. Hart is "bawdy and funny, charming and a free-wheeler with her choice to spiced words. However, none of that is comparable to her presence on stage. The tall, lanky , tall singer/songwriter walks and squalls out songs together with Mick Jagger . At other times, she's seated at a place at the piano or centerstage in which her legs are crossed over the chairs and her voice so delicate and painfulthat it's hard to tell if she's going to cry or whether you'll. Hart was subject to similar reactions from the moment she began taking to the stage at amateur competitions when she was a teen. But, Hart was skeptical about the business of music after it was an instant success. In the end, traveling the world over was detrimental to the group, and Hart was ostracized for almost four years. This was a period being a soul-searcher and dealing with problems that come from writing music. After that, determined to give her professional career a second chance she came back in 1999 with the acclaimed Screamin' for My Supper The album showed Hart's songwriting talents grow through honest, vulnerable tunes about facing life's issues.
