Niykee has experienced a whirlwind few years including getting picked by Snoop to perform with him at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee keeps a steady songwriting schedule despite all this. The young producer is now drawn to her, and is always looking at new beats. A lot of them inspire music ideas. I'll know if a beat's great after five seconds. Then I'll get a song in my mind and begin creating right away, she adds. My guitar is on the back of my porch and I let the lyrics flow. It's usually done within 30 minutes. Niykee continues to develop her talents as a writer and lyricist. She says that the pain she experienced through the years has served as an infinite source of unusual motivation. Even when I'm not writing in a literal way about what has been a part of my life, all the trauma of my childhood and the loss of my sister end in being integrated into my music she says. This shapes my music and adds a greater sense of meaning that I believe is very important. I'd like to be able to listen to my music in the next 20 years and be proud of my words.
