Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian singer-songwriter. She's released over 20 albums. The songs of DiFranco are classified as folk or alternative rock. They also have influences from hip hop music, jazz and punk. The widely regarded feminist icon Grammy award winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, and was among the first musicians to launch her own label 1990. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were students at the same school. Her father was Italian origin as was her mother originally from Montreal. The song by Ani, 32 Flavors was composed by her and sung by Ani. It is a track from her album from 1995 Not a Pretty Girl, that was her sixth studio album. It was also featured on the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. In 2013 DiFranco apologized after it was discovered that she was hosting a three-day workshop on the former Louisiana slave plantation. It was postponed, but many (including the news media) didn't think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco made a retraction apology two days following the first. While she is known for her role as Little Peoplesinger, she's collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists, from Pete Seeger through Chuck D until Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani has the name Kristen Ford. She was 14 when she began writing her own songs. She performed them in caf s and bars through her teens. DiFranco was enrolled in Buffalo State College when she was sixteen years old. She graduated at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts at that age.
